IBM has tripled the capability of its FlashSystem arrays. Additionally, new features include hardware compression to provide even more data.
The base model – 900 is available on its own or as part of the IBM A9000 pod and the IBM A9000R rack system. The IBM 900 includes a 2U/12-slot enslosure delivering around 1.2 million IOPS.
The array is embodied in IBM’s proprietary MicroLatency flash rather than the standard SSD.
